About | Larry Dean Boyd, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandpa and friend was welcomed in the arms of Jesus on February 3, 2015 with his family by his side, where he will have no more pain and suffering. He was born on December 24, 1949 in Yakima, Washington to Jeanette and Kenneth Boyd. Larry was a sergeant in the US Air Force and was trained as a high security telecommunication specialist from 1970 to 1974. He was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines serving several locations in Thailand, Guam, Okinawa, and Japan as part of the 405 Combat Support Group (PACAF). He was later invited to join the US Modern Aerospace Team, which he turned down to marry the love of his life, Belinda Bystrom. He served his country with proud dedication. Not long after Larry returned from his service in the US Air Force, he opened B & L Heating and Air Conditioning in Yakima, which he operated from 1975 to 2008, serving many family and friends in the community with his expertise and skill. Larry was known as a gentle, kind man to all that knew him. He was an interesting, creative person who loved to fish the waters of Alaska with his buddies, Dick and Jim, where he spent many summers deep sea fishing. Larry loved a challenge which is reflected in his solar waterfall that harbors koi, goldfish and turtles. Larry's family was very important to him. He enjoyed his Friday coffee time with his mother and sisters, sharing milkshakes with his granddaughter Alina Spink-Nguyen and spending time with his daughter Andrea, whom he loved with all his heart. His unique sense of humor was shown when he gave the doctors a thumbs up for his final surgery. Larry's thoughtfulness and final declaration of love to Belinda was discovered after he passed during surgery when she found a valentine card he left for her. His beloved family includes his loving wife, Belinda, daughter Andrea Nguyen (Vung), granddaughter Alina Spink-Nguyen, beautiful mother Jeanette Glaspey (Frank), sisters Stacy Ray (Don), Debbie Marshall (Kevin), Dawn Donelson (Bud) and nieces and nephews Jana, Nicole, Stephanie, Erika, Joe and Casey. Larry is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Boyd, his younger brother Mark and by numerous aunts and uncles. |
