About | Lawrence (Larry) Curtis Fitchett passed away March 2, 2024 in Winslow, Arizona. Larry was born March 14th, 1968 in Yakima, WA. He attended school in Selah, Naches, and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1986. Following graduation, Larry enlisted in the United State Navy. Larry graduated from boot camp in the Great Lakes where he became a Gas Turbine Technician. Serving on a guided missile frigate out of Long Beach, CA. Larry spent many days out to sea including a deployment to the Middle East in 1987 & 1988. After his military service he married Jessica Dittman in Flagstaff, Arizona... where he resided the last 33 years. Together they raised two children, Jack & Nina. He took a took a job in communications where he found that he had a certain skill for sales and excelled there. Jack and Nina would be the center of his life going forward. Always looking out for his family was something Larry would emphasize throughout his entire life and embodied those characteristics from an early age. Larry taught his children from an early age the meaning of hard work, integrity, respect, but most importantly how to laugh. He passed on his fondness for soccer, snowboarding, and a competitive spirit to both his children... whom he cared relentlessly for. At an early age Larry discovered his love and talent for art and music. He was always painting (mostly water color or pastels) or building his own guitars, many of which he gave away. He also had a love for the rocks he found in Flagstaff and the surrounding area. Everyone always knew where they stood with Larry, whether they liked it or not. He lived life on his terms and made no apologies. He was a man of integrity and the very best pieces of Larry's humor, work ethic, character, and confidence will be carried on by his children, Nina and Jack. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, and infant brother (Matthew), and his step-dad (Vaughan Pierce). Larry will live on through his family, son Jack, daughter Nina, his mother Sheila Pierce, brothers Jim & Doug Fitchett, step brothers Corbin & Matt Pierce, and other loved ones including Jessica, Marti, countless friends, and many nieces and nephews.
