About Mark P MUNSON Passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday, March 18, 2006. Mark was born in Yakima on January 18, 1957 and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1975. As a varsity wrestler and National Merit Scholarship Award recipient, Mark's accomplishments in high school were numerous and highlighted especially by his statewide election as Youth Governor for Washington State in the YMCA Youth in Government Program. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of Washington in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration and passed the CPA exam that same year. He then attended Harvard Law School, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1982; he was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association that same year. After completing law school, Mark returned to Seattle to join the firm of Perkins Coie LLP as an associate attorney where he practiced corporate law. Mark's contributions to that firm and his clients were recognized by his elevation to full partner in 1989. Most recently, Mark practiced business, commercial, finance and real estate law in Yakima with the firm of Larson & Perkins, LLC. Mark also served on the Board of Directors of the Yakima Schools Foundation. Mark was known for his comprehensive knowledge of the law and its application. His services were sought after by many and he readily provided his assistance pro bono to those in need. In addition to being a gifted attorney, Mark was a loving and dedicated father. He is survived by his sons, Brenton and Barry.
