| About | We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Mark Reade Van Dorn, Jr. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, son, and daughters on November 13, 2022, at the age of 70. Dad will spend forever in his favorite place, Cannon Beach, with his dog Sadie by his side. Our dad will be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor, his love for his family and friends, and helping others with their glasses at Physicians Optical, where he worked for 51 years as an optician. But, most of all, he will be remembered for the deep love he had for his wife, Cheree Van Dorn. They met when they were 17 years old, married at 18, and were inseparable for the next 52 years. He is survived by his wife Cheree Van Dorn, daughters Lesly (Lonny) Galland and Lisa Rowe, sons Mark (Becky) Van Dorn and Luke Dunham, his sister Marlee Kleca, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids. Per his wishes, there will not be a service. If you would like to pay your respects, have a beer in his honor at the beach. We love you, dad. |
