About | Molly Katherine Danielson, age 40, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2022, in Yakima, Washington, due to complications from muscular dystrophy. She was born October 1, 1982, to Allan and Mary Kay Danielson in Yakima, the middle of their three children. Molly lived briefly in Stephenville, Texas, and Bremerton, Washington, before returning to Yakima, where she attended all grades of public school. She graduated from Eisenhower High School with the class of 2001. Molly began swimming as a young child and was a member of the Yakima Athletic Club and Eisenhower High School Swim teams. She competed in the 1996 Washington State Special Olympics as a swimmer. She was awarded one Gold Medal, one Silver Medal, one Bronze Medal and three First Place ribbons. She claimed her favorite stroke was the breast stroke, as well as the freestyle and loved to relay race. She was also a member of the Eisenhower High School choir. Molly has always loved children and briefly worked at a day care. The effects muscular dystrophy limited her ability and she could not pursue this as a fulltime vocation. Her life was an example of how to cope with a disability, relying on faith, family, and friends. She was strong in her faith and attended West Valley Nazarene all her formative years. She had a gentle kindness for animals and a love for all who knew her. Molly is survived by her father, Allan Danielson, her brother, Claus (Beth), a sister, Dedra, and nephews, Charles, and William. She is also survived her aunts, Ann Marie Haley, Kathleen Parry, and Carolyn Barlow, as well as one uncle, Dale (Debbie) Danielson. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kay, in 2019. A Celebration of Life is planned for the Summer of 2023. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.brooksidefuneral.com. |
