| About | Paulette Ann Messer, 69, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2023 in Spokane, WA. Paulette was born to Paul and Catherina (Miller) Messer on April 17, 1953 in Madras, OR. The family soon moved to Yakima where she attended Holy Family, St. Paul's, Gilbert Elementary, and Eisenhower High School. After graduating, Paulette attended Mr. Lee's Beauty School. After a few years as a beautician, Paulette followed her father and brothers into sales, mostly selling carpet for local companies. In 1988, Paulette went to work for Sundown M. Ranch where she worked as a Counselor Trainee and eventually as the Outpatient Treatment Manager. Paulette found her true calling at Sundown and was able to help countless people and families. With her beautiful smile, sense of humor, and infectious energy, Paulette was a natural in her roles in the Adult, Youth, and Family programs. Paulette was proud of her time at Sundown M. Ranch and had some of the best years of her life there. Outside of work, Paulette was very talented in everything that she did. As a child, she was involved in ballet, dance, theater, singing, and playing the piano. Paulette was a skilled artist and was always working on some art project or redecorating someone's living room or kitchen. Paulette loved her family and was a devoted Aunt and Great-Aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. On any given weekend, Paulette would be spending time taking them to the movies, having lunch, playing games, or taking them to Blockbuster Video to rent movies. For several years Paulette helped the kids put on the annual Halloween Party at Grandma and Grandpa Messers' house - even winging the Halloween songs on the piano when the kids forgot the music to the songs they wanted to sing. Paulette also loved animals. Over the years she had many pets, including dogs, (Snapper being one of her favorites), cockatiels, and canaries. Paulette is survived by her son Todd Ellis, brother Keith Messer, nieces Lori Liebrecht, Debbie Sandlin, Michelle Williams, and nephews Brian Messer, Ryan Messer, and Matt Messer. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Catherina Messer and her brother Kenneth D. "Ken" Messer Private services will be held this Spring.
