About | On February 10th 2017 we lost our beloved husband, father, grandfather “Papa,” and great friend Ralph to a short illness. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and love of his life Patsy Lenhard, daughter Lisa (Chris) Hill, son Robert (Chandra) McGuire, grandchildren Jeffry Barbee, Jarek Barbee, Mason Hill, Whitney Hill, and Thomas McGuire, as well as his nephew Jay (Judy) Lenhard and niece Jill (Mike) Buffington, as well as many more extended family members. The void he left is painfully felt. He was born July 15th 1946 to Chet and Beatrice Lenhard in Corvallis, Oregon where he spent some of his childhood along with his big brother Wayne, until they moved and settled in the Yakima Valley, where he graduated from Eisenhower High School, then attended college at YVC and Central Washington University. Ralph had an illustrious career as a licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser which started when he took over his father’s business, Yakima Hearing Aid Services, in 1976. He was Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences, a lifetime member of International Hearing Society, and served as President three different terms of Washington Hearing Society. He was employed by AHAA as a Divisional Manager which allowed him to travel around the U.S. doing what he had such a passion for. Ralph had a remarkable career but it pales in comparison to how remarkable he was in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His gentle smile, amazing stories, “Goofiness,” and just that big kid in him. He was very active, so much we would hear “Ralph take a break!” He enjoyed working on cars, especially his beloved Corvette, he always had some kind of project going when he wasn’t away at work. His love for the beach and Disney had been a staple in Ralph’s life, his favorite thing to do was take the whole family to Disney World and share the magic with us all. He was definitely our “Goofy.” A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. To leave a message or a memory for the family please go to www.brooksidefhc.com.
