About | Robert Ruben Myhre, 83, of Yakima, Washington, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on November 17, 2023. He was a dedicated husband and father, known for his hard work and pride in his profession. Bob was a compassionate, loving, and caring individual with an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. Born on September 14, 1940, in Yakima, Washington, Bob was a man of faith and a devout Christian. Bob received his education at Eisenhower High School in Yakima, Washington, and furthered his studies at Yakima Valley College and Seattle University. He achieved certification as a Property and Liability Underwriter from the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters. In addition to his accomplishments in the insurance industry, Bob served as an army reservist. He dedicated his career to the insurance field, working for prominent companies such as American States, Safeco, Fred S. James Insurance, and Liberty Mutual. Throughout his 48-year career, Bob held various roles, including account executive, chief underwriter, and branch manager. In 1977, he became a partner at Lower Valley Brokers in Sunnyside. Bob's knowledge, professionalism, and dedication earned him numerous accolades and the respect of his peers and colleagues. He retired in 2010, having made a significant impact on the industry. Bob worshipped at Holy Family in Yakima, Washington. As a parishioner, he volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister in the 1980's. He found solace and strength in his faith. Outside of his professional life, Bob had a passion for reading and all sports. He was an avid car enthusiast, who enjoyed collecting vintage car replicas. He also spent a lot of time in his yard mastering and cultivating one of the best lawns, that many admired. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene, their children, David, Michelle, and Jeff. He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he took great pride in, Jenna, Joseph, Lauren, and Jeffery. He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben, his mother, Doris, and his brother, Douglas. Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of love, hard work, and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:30pm, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima, Washington.
