About | Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Robert Sidney Shick Jr., 67, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Rob was born December 21, 1953 to Robert Sidney Shick and Mary Johnetta (Call) Shick in Yakima, Washington. ??He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1972 with fond memories of playing baseball and the marching band. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his service, he continued education at Boise State. He also attended Central Washington State College, Idaho State and received a degree from the University of Idaho in Materials Science. He was employed with Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Questar Gas Company and was employed with Galvanic Applied Sciences at the time of his death. ??He married Sherry Newell and together welcomed four children. They later divorced. He was a devoted father to Robert, Christian, Sara and Jordan. On April 21, 1995 he married Colleen Millerberg Taylor and became a step-father, friend and mentor to Colleen's boys: Curtis, Marcus and Sean. Rob's greatest calling in life was that of father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was proud of their many accomplishments and goals. Anyone who knew Rob could see the deep and sincere love he had for all who were in his life. He enjoyed family gatherings, music, movies, game show trivia, BYU Cougars, Utah Jazz, Seattle Seahawks and a good day at the golf course. There wasn't a sporting event he wouldn't attend. Rob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He truly lived as the Savior in living a life of selfless love and service. He was a support to all who needed friendship, encouragement and unconditional love. He will be fondly remembered as dad and grandpa to Kristy Madrigal and son, Zeke. Rob is survived by his wife, Colleen; children, Robert (Courtney) Shick, Jordan (Monica) Shick of Idaho Falls, ID, Colleen's children Curtis, Marcus and Sean (Sara) Taylor of Sandy, UT, grandchildren Skyler, River, Carter, Avery, Noelle and Bryton; siblings: Christine (Phil) Cope of Kennewick, WA; Betty (Kent) Wood of Idaho Falls, ID; Susan (David) Carter of Pocatello, ID: David (Lisa) Shick, of Fruit Heights, UT; Celia (Paul) McKenzie of Ammon, ID; and James (Jenny) Shick of Goshen, UT; mother-in-law, Norene Millerberg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Caryl Jean; children: Christian and Sara Anne; and father-in-law, Keith Millerberg. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, at 11:00 am at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens |
