About | April 30, 1954 - March 6, 2017 Sylvia Renea (Wear) Moesch, 62, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning, March 6th, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. She leaves a bereaved family and many friends; her mother Mary, her step-father Harry Kwak, first-born sister Cheryl Sample, and two older brothers, Kenneth and David Wear; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, several nephews and nieces (who knew her as "Auntie"), and a score of life-long friends. Sylvia had an adventurous spirit, evidenced at six years of age, when she put a knapsack on her shoulder and marched west, headed out to see if she could make it on her own. After some exploring the neighborhood and her curiosity satisfied, she ventured home to set her sights on future, more extravagant endeavors. In her teens she jumped boxcars with friends throughout the southwest and later, as an adult, traveled solo through most of Europe - not to mention the many excursions she took across North America. A student at Eisenhower, she moved to California after high school. In her 20s she moved back to Washington from San Francisco and traded in her beat up Volkswagen van for a small Toyota pick-up. After a short stint as a banker at Seafirst, she began career with Qwest telephone service in Seattle. It was a profession that fulfilled and sustained her and ultimately took her to other cities such as Spokane and Denver, Colorado. She loved, and was devoted to, being with her family. Sylvia also loved practical jokes and had a strong (and sometimes silly) sense of humor. Other passions were coffee, her pets, the Mariners and music - especially the Beatles. Eventually, Sylvia returned the Northwest to connect with family and to help care for her parents. Upon her return, she worked as a caregiver, as well as a rural postal carrier until she retired last year. Donations and remembrances to go to the Union Gospel Mission Health Care. Celebration of life, Saturday March 18th, 1:00 p.m., Harrah Grace Bretheren Church. |
