| About | Ted was born and raised in Yakima. He was the oldest son of Herb and Louise Shaw. Ted was an outstanding athlete for Eisenhower High School in football (plus homecoming king) and track. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served 4 years. He then graduated from WSU with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education. Ted married and had a daughter, Kindle. After a subsequent divorce, he moved to Australia to pursue a teaching career. Ted found something there with the country and the people that resonated with him, so he stayed. He lived there for over the last 40 years until he passed away on March 12, 2019. Ted was an original. He was one of a kind, unique and marched to the beat of his own drum. He is survived by his daughter, Kindle, and his two younger brothers, Glen and Jerry. Yakima Herald Republic online April 14, 2019 |
