Don was born in Richland, WA, on June 19, 1951, to Don and Norma Short. He grew up in the Tri-Cities and was a member of the Kennewick High School Class of 1969. He was the founder and president of Tempest Company, a construction consulting firm in Omaha, NE. His hobbies included being a licensed arms merchant, travel (to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, England, Sweden, Germany, France and Belgium), shoot and enjoy trains. He restored a 1965 Corvette Stingray convertible. He was married for 40 years with 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. He died after a brief battle with cancer in Omaha, Nebraska on June 8, 2012. |
