About | Passed away from cancer. Birth Date 24 Aug 1970 Death Date 19 Dec 2003 DONALD WALTERS Kennewick, Wash. Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home After a three-year battle with cancer, Donald Walters passed away gently at his home in Kennewick with a number of his family and close friends at his side. After living in Oregon and Western Washington, Donald and his family moved to Kennewick in 1988. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1989 and worked at various jobs before making a computer hobby into a job at a local internet provider. This also led to time at WSU Tri-Cities teaching internet related classes. Donald was offered the chance to buy a small nightclub in Pasco called Out and About. After gathering much support, Donald and his business partners took over in 1997. After a slow start, Out and About is now a thriving business and also a popular 'all ages' dance club for area teens. Donald was proud of the business and loved being able to provide a safe haven for the area's kids on Friday nights. Always being the one who made sure everyone was having a good time brought Donald much satisfaction and he always had time when asked for his advice or help in many ways. His outgoing personality made him the leader in many activities, be it work or play. Time spent with Donald was always full of laughter, and he had the gift of always making you feel special. His open, honest personality affected those around him, and time with him never seemed to be enough. His gracious and caring attitude during his too short time with us has left all who know him well changed for the better. He was a fan of science fiction, especially Star Trek, he loved model steam trains and had a collection of Saab automobiles that he doted on. A man of many interests and talents he was fascinated by all things new and shiny. Over the last several years, Donald had been involved with local chambers of commerce and served on the board of directors for the Pasco Downtown Development Association until his illness forced him to cut back on many of his local activities. Donald is survived by his parents, Dave and Sue Walters, and brother Steve, all of Kennewick; his business partners, Michael Larsen, John Thomas and Richard Sharpless and many family and close friends all of whom are a cherished part of whom Donald was. We love you always. Donald's life was celebrated at a gathering of friends and relatives, it was his wish not to have a formal service. If you wish to honor his memory, strive for understanding and the absence of hate and then enjoy life. Donations in Donald's memory may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice, 2108 W.
