About | September 22, 1953 to July 20, 1996 posted TCH July 1996 Wesley C. Edwards passed away Saturday, July 20, 1996, at home. Wes was born in Kennewick, WA., on September 22, 1953 and was currently residing in Vancouver, WA., with his wife, Cindy and sons, Le Roi, 6, and Griffey, 18 months. Wes is survived by his parents, Walter and Jerry Edwards of Kennewick; his brother, Larry of Crestview, FL.; sisters, Cheryl Sutherland of Sacramento, CA., and Becky Miska of Richland, WA.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wes graduated from Kennewick High School in 1971. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and over a period of years attended school at CBC in Pasco, WWSU in Bellingham, WA., and graduated cum laude from WSU School of Architecture in 1989 with a bachelor of architecture. Wes was a member and former president of Tau Beta Pi. He married Cynthia Preston in Seattle in 1980. He was currently employed by Soderstrom Architects in Portland, OR., working at Bonneville Power Administration. Wes was interested in and involved in activities ranging from A to Z. He was an avid sports fan and participated in the Clark County Bowling League. A major interest was restoration of his 1919 home as well as other woodworking projects. He had an ongoing interest in theater, horticulture and genealogy. He was a member of West Highlands Methodist Church in Kennewick and currently was attending East Vancouver Methodist Church, singing in the choir and actively participating in church leadership. Wes was totally involved with his family. He loved his children very much. He was a terrific dad as well as a loving and faithful husband. Memorial services will be held at Kennewick First United Methodist Church on Friday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Le Roi and Griffey Edwards Education Fund, c/o Mark D.
