About | onia Elizabeth Ibarra March 19, 1969 - January 17, 2022 Richland, Washington - Sonia Elizabeth Ibarra, 52, passed away January 17th surrounded with love and family. She was born March 1st, 1969 in Eaglepass, Texas to Jose Carlos Villa and Elizabeth Estrada. She eloped and married the love of her life, Jesus Rolando Ibarra, on July 11th, 1992. They welcomed their first and only child, Jessica Ibarra, to the world on July 18th, 1993 in what Sonia considered her greatest life achievement – her pride and joy. Sonia graduated from Kennewick High School's class of 1989, later continuing her education at Columbia Basin College. She was also a lifelong church goer with a strong connection to her faith. Her path in life traveled through our heavenly father with full faith in whatever was next to come, a true depiction of her strength and trust. She was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Psalms 23 – "He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me… You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord FOREVER." Sonia was a devoted advocate of childhood development and found comfort in leaving impactful experiences to any child that she had an opportunity to meet. She had an infectious personality, who's humor would leave even the most difficult times in life with laughter and smiles, in many cases making people forget their own problems. This would be a mixture of wise sayings, stories, and perspectives on life that left you seeing the world as Sonia did… the glass is always half full. A true food connoisseur who would try anything once, but also used the opportunity to share a meal as a blessing to the company of the others at the table alongside her. She would bring pure joy and happiness through her memorable bright smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. She is survived by Husband, Jesus Rolando Ibarra; daughter Jessica Ibarra; Mother Elizabeth Estrada; Father Jose Carlos Villa; Siblings Cynthia Pocasangre, Jose Carlos Villa, Amarily Keeton, German Estrada. |
