Andy Hardy, February 4, 1958 ~ December 5, 2014: Andrew Christopher Hardy, 56, died unexpectedly in his sleep of heart failure in Des Moines, WA. Andy was born in Mount Vernon, WA, to Francis (Frank) W. Hardy and Janet (McKellar) Hardy, both originally from British Columbia. He grew up in Montesano, WA, and graduated in 1980 from Central Washington University where he studied Food Science. Andy met Linda Chan at CWU; they married in Tacoma in 1982, and had two daughters. From an early age he loved to cook and later worked in the food industry, mainly in the seafood industry, for NOAA (Kodiak, Alaska), Tyson Seafoods (two years in Shanghai, China), McDonald Meats, DaVinci Syrups, and most recently for Uwajimaya. Andy spent many happy early years fishing in B.C. and later in Puget Sound and Westport. He spent a lifetime gardening and providing urban habitat for birds, enjoyed the success of the Seahawks, and spent many hours working on cars. He adored his daughters Amy Hardy, Ally Hardy - and best dog ever Buddy. |
