About | Steven J. Koziol Date: April 7, 1951 - May 30, 2010 Obituary: Steven Joseph Koziol was born April 7, 1951 to Bruno Koziol and Alice DeShaw in Ephrata, Washington. He passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2010 with his wife, Linda, sons, Jason and Jonathan, daughter-in-law, Loni and best friend, Kevin McAlexander at the young age of 59. Steven was raised in Moses Lake, Washington and graduated from Moses Lake High in 1969. Following high school, Steven married the love of his life, Linda Hastings, on July 31, 1970 and became the loving father to two sons, Joseph and Jason. He later raised his oldest grandson, Jonathan. He was an amazing man who touched many lives throughout his life. Steven loved to teach others whenever he could. Steven began his working career at Irrigators. He then continued to improve his trade by attending Big Bend Community College. He became a very high skilled welder and craftsman. He used his skills as an Iron Worker around Washington State including building the fish ladders near Leavenworth and working at Hanford. In 1988, Steven began his career at Grant County Public Utility District as a hydro mechanic. He always said he had the best job in Grant County. He currently was a supervisory foreman at Wanapum Dam, where he continued to share his talents. There he was able to meet his best friend, Kevin McAlexander, who never left his side. He also worked alongside many talented individuals, who he respected and admired through the 22 years he worked for the Grant County PUD. Steven was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He shared his love for hunting and fishing with his close family and friends. Steven loved to spend time camping in the mountains. It was where he found peace and tranquility. Steven will be sincerely missed by his family and friends. Steven was preceded in death by both of his parents Bruno Koziol and Alice DeShaw Koziol Harrington, and his step-father, Al Harrington. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Koziol of Moses Lake; two children, Jason Koziol (and his wife, Loni) of Moses Lake, Washington and Joseph Koziol of Connell, Washington; and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Addison, Holden, Cameron, Nicole, and Jennifer. Steven is also survived by his siblings, Kerry Koziol (and his wife, Caroline) of Renton, Washington, Pat Hutton, Doug Koziol, Tony Koziol (and his wife, Deanna) and Terri Hansen (and her husband Loren), all of Moses Lake, Washington. He is also survived by many other special family members and friends that he loved dearly. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 200 Dale Road, Moses Lake, Washington. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.
