Sherry did her undergraduate work at Occidental College and her graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she continued to work in the English Department until her death. We had been out of touch for many years when I found her on the web. We wrote regularly and at length, and the last summer, missed each other in Spokane by only two days. She was brilliant, exuberant, loyal, and one of my three closest female friends at Shadle. I've never deleted her last 4 or 5 letters, and they still give me much pleasure. She is greatly missed. |
