Bob excelled at basketball and set the Stadium High School basketball scoring record during the 1963-64 season. Unfortunately, he had a difficult life and frequently found himself in trouble. Bob died suddenly from cardiovascular shock caused by an abscess on his kidney on April 26, 1977. The week before his death, Bob dressed himself in a suit and spent an entire day attending services at the New Covenant Pentecostal Tabernacle, where his aunt, Dr. Edna Travis, was pastor. He finally sought God…and hopefully found peace in his life before he departed us. (Excerpts from Bob's obituary). |
