Pictured with my brother Ron Book, is one of his best friends, Phil Stevens. Phil passed away about 2 years before Ronnie did, so roughly 2010. Ronnie and Phil played together in their bands and made a LOT of beautiful music together. Phil lived with his partner Carol Molmen for 22 years and she had 2 sons Rick and Dan that also graduated in Sumner. Phil and Carol had left the Sumner area in the 80's and went up and lived on a beautiful wooded area in Ollala where they lived until he passed very quickly from Cancer. Phil didn't socialize, so the last time that Ronnie and I had gotten to see Phil was at Ronnie's wife's funeral in 2006, she had also died of brain cancer. Ronnie and her had been married for 17 years and she was a nurse and home care giver. The doctors gave her 3 months to live, Ronnie never told her that, and she lived another 3 years and her and Ronnie fished out their back door on their lake in Lacey right up to 3 days before she passed........I was the lucky friend and sister to know each one of these wonderful human beings......Phil could make magic when he would sing and play his guitar.......remember him also with a smile....a man of very few words, but loaded with love. |
