About | JOHN THOMAS REYNOLDS, 75, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Born Jan. 22, 1942, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Guy Reynolds Jr. and Lena Virginia Porter Burns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rose Stuckey Reynolds; a daughter, Anna Elizabeth Reynolds; a brother, Robert Garland Reynolds; and a half sister, Ann Reynolds Carden. Mr. Reynolds graduated from Shepherd College in 1964 with a degree in chemistry. He briefly taught high school before joining the Central Intelligence Agency, where he enjoyed a successful career for over 32 years as an intelligence officer. Mr. Reynolds was a past member of the board of directors of the Shepherd University Foundation, a member of Shepherd University’s Joseph P. McMurran Society, and a member emeritus of the American Chemical Society. He was a member of Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Reynolds was an accomplished genealogist and a proud member of the Clan Campbell Society (North America). He is survived by a half sister, Vanda Reynolds White Stohlman; a stepsister, Patsy Cunningham Slonaker; a sister-in-law, Margaret Sue Reynolds; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
