About | Chad Dail Friend, 20, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord Aug. 6, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born March 12, 1989, in Parkersburg, a son of Carol and Ronald Friend. Chad was a 2007 graduate of PHS with a 3.8 GPA. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2007. He attended college in Anderson, Ind., for a year and was enrolled at West Virginia University in Morgantown preparing for a vocation in youth ministry. Chad was a part of the Liberty Street Church of God his whole life. He was a leader in the student group. He worked for Patriot Automation Inc. as a technician for the last three years. Chad was a friend to all and loved by those who he came in contact with. He was eager to help anyone with any job and was a hard worker. He had a wonderful passion for life. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his fiancee, Hannah Slanina of Wheeling, W.Va.; sisters, Tosha Combs and Ashley Friend of Parkersburg and Nicole Sams (Randy) of Mineral Wells; brother, Corey Friend of Parkersburg; three nieces; three nephews; grandmother, Vera Drake; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from Braxton County and many from the Parkersburg area. |
