About | From the Waukesha Freeman: Brian M. Delaney, 25, of Waukesha, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, after an eight month battle with color cancer. He is survived by his mother, Barb Lynn of Middleton; his father, Michael (Diane) Delaney of Racine; his sister Shannon (Jeff) Bohmann of Waukesha. He is also survived by his grandparents, David and Sharon Delaney of Greer, S.C. and Jeanne Lynn of Minocqua, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his grandfather, "Doc" Lynn; and his beloved cat, Figgy. Brian graduated from Arrowhead High School in 2002. Brian was an extremely compassionate person who always put others ahead of him. He was a gifted gamer and loved hard rock and classical music. Even though his journey through ulcerative colitis and finally colon cancer was beyond difficult, Brian kept his uniquely sarcastic, but addicting, sense of humor going until the end and entertained family and friends with his distinctive laugh. Friends and family will celebrate Brian's short, but eventful, life at a party he requested be thrown in his honor. A private gathering will take place in the spring to bury Brian's ashes at the family's land in Minocqua. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Brian's name to the local chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and/or AngelsGrace Hospice of Oconomowoc |
