About | Alison (Close) Sorenson May 13, 1950 — July 4, 2014 Story Alison (Close) Sorenson Posted: Wednesday, July 9, 2014 6:00 am Alison (Close) Sorenson passed away July 4, 2014. She was born May 13, 1950, to Fred and Cecelia (Domke) Close in Menomonie. Allison attended college at UW-Stout and received a BS in business administration and an MS in industrial technology management. She had various jobs such as computer analyst, JOBS service welfare reform specialist, state trainer for Douglas County in economic support and taught and eventually became the dean of administrative assistant and industrial technology programs at WITC in Ashland. She married her first husband in 1980 and had her daughter Angela (Drinkwine) Tilsen in August of 1981. She moved from Superior in 2013 to reside with her daughter’s family in White Bear Lake, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Cecelia Close; and brother Phil Close (Jane). She is survived by her daughter Angela Tilsen (Jeremy); and her two favorite boys her grandsons Isaac, 7, and Adam, 4; her longtime love John Sorenson; brother Wayne (Nancy) Close; sister Sheila (Wayne) Andrews and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A gathering will be held Saturday, July 12, from 1- 4 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Hwy 96 (one mile west of 35E), White Bear, Minn. Memorials preferred to the family. |
