The former Beulah L. Smith was born on September 1, 1935 in Menomonie to Robert and Dorothy (Legge) Smith. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1953. Beulah married Thomas L. Manor on March 20, 1954. Thomas was in the Marine Corp so they lived in several places. In 1972, Tom retired from the Marine Corp and since then they have resided in Menomonie. Beulah worked on many Marine bases. She was assistant price controller for St. Charles Manufacturing in Illinois and later secretary/bookkeeper for Lehmann & Larson Distribution in Menomonie for 16 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and treasurer for the National Mutual Benefit Branch #927 for many years. Beulah is survived by: Her husband of 54 years, Thomas Manor Her mother, Dorothy Smith A son, Alan (Val) Manor of Arizona A daughter, Lori Rohde of Ohio Grandchildren, Kyle, Casey, and Krysta Rohde all of Ohio Rebekah Shaw of Utah Thomas (Shana) Manor of Arizona 4 great-grandchildren Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anita Kreaser, Jim (Carol) Manor, Peggy Lauer, Phyllis Herbeck, Dorothy (George) Collins, and Arlene (George) Mifko Two aunts, Mabel Fritz and Lillian Smith Many nieces and nephews And many good friends She is preceded in death by her father, Robert R. Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law and aunts and uncles. A very special thanks to Northwest WI Hospice program and to Jill Williams for all their care and support. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Twp. Dunn, Dunn Co., WI. |
