About | Devon S. Shackleton, age 31, of Chetek, WI, formerly of Knapp, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Devon Scott Shackleton was born Jan. 22, 1974 in Menomonie, WI to Don Shackleton and Jacalyn Johnson. He was raised in the Knapp, Wisconsin area, attended Lucas and Knapp grade schools and Menomonie High School. Devon also attended Chippewa Valley Technical School for Sheet Metal work. He then worked as a building contractor throughout western Wisconsin. Devon is survived by: His parents, Don Shackleton and Jackie Davis of Knapp Stepfather, Daniel W. Davis of Knapp A sister, Shawna Davis of Knapp His maternal grandmother, Lorraine Johnson of Knapp Step-grandparents, Corrine and Rex Stockman of Wilson A special friend, Debbie Gunnufson of Chetek Aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Perry and Genevieve Shackleton; maternal grandfather, Earl Johnson; step-grandfather, Daniel C. Davis; an aunt, Jeanne Witt; and an uncle, David Perry Shackleton. Devon never had a lot of material things, but did the best with what he did have. He enjoyed trips to the Dakotas and collected rocks and wolf artwork. He loved the several German Shepherds he had. Through Devon’s short time with us he fought a lot of demons, but always knew and loved God. He had a smile that could warm your heart. Always caring and loving, he would do anything he could for anyone. He was truly a “Free Spirit” and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We love you Devon. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Menomonie Alliance Church, with Pastor Stan Shackleton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in the Town of Stanton. Family and friends may call at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. |
