About | Donald M. Jaeger, age 69, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Menomonie. He was born July 8, 1945 in Knapp, WI to Rudolph and Emma (Stewart) Jaeger. Don attended Lierman Grade School near Knapp, WI and graduated from Menomonie High School. He later completed a short course in farming in Madison, WI. Don also served several years in the Wisconsin National Guard. On Oct. 28, 1972 Don married Barbara Etta (Seeger) Borchert in Menomonie. In addition to dairy farming, Don worked at Connell's Orchard, sold field corn seed, sold insurance, hauled milk for Knapp Cheese Factory, sold cars and was a longtime bus driver for Menomonie Transportation and for Dunn county Transit. Don loved playing cards, especially Euchre and 500, and he loved his casino runs, gambling and scratch off tickets. He also collected cars and tractors and enjoyed shopping. Don loved his family and will be sadly missed. Don is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara of Menomonie; daughter, Linda (Gaylan) Nerison of Boyceville; sons, Charlie Borchert of Menomonie and Marty Borchert of AZ; many grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Nordstrom of Minneapolis, MN as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Emma Jaeger. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Mark Hendrickson officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. Wisconsin with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Guard. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family. |
