About | Jeffrey L. Heitkamp Jr., age 26, of Menomonie, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in the town of Red Cedar, Dunn County, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born Jan. 30, 1978, at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., to Jeffrey and Janie (Frasl) Heitkamp. He was baptized at Tainter United Methodist Church and later as a teen was baptized as a born again Christian at Landmark Christian Church. In 1979, Jeffrey moved with his family to Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota where he lived until 1982. He also lived in Eau Claire and Pierre, S.D., and then moved to the Menomonie area. Jeffrey attended Menomonie, Eau Claire and South Dakota schools, graduating in 1997 from Menomonie High School. In high school he played basketball, held a Menomonie title in track, and went to the state track meet in 1997 with the 4x400 relay team. He was also a member of the Menomonie High School FFA Chapter. Jeffrey enjoyed coaching and refereeing for the YMCA in Eau Claire. He also enjoyed working on cars and hanging out with his brothers and his friends. He was currently working for J & D Mfg. in Altoona. Jeffrey is survived by his father, Jeffrey (Patricia) Heitkamp Sr. of Menomonie; his mother, Janie Heitkamp of Eau Claire; two half brothers, Brandon and Bryan Heitkamp of Menomonie; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Marion Heitkamp of Menomonie; his maternal grandfather, Edward H. Frasl of Eau Claire; two aunts, Kris (Phil) Martin of Menomonie and Susan Schuck of Eau Claire; one uncle, Edward "Bud" Frasl of Fall Creek; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Frasl. Funeral services are Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the Tainter United Methodist Church in the town of Tainter, Dunn County, with the Rev. Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the town of Elk Mound, Dunn County, at a later date. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. |
