About | Kendra Hart Nelson Dunn County News, Wed, Oct. 27, 2004, A6 Kendra Hart Nelson, age 53, of Hillsboro, lost her courageous battle with Lymphoma and passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 11, 1951, in Menomonie to Kenneth and ReEtta (Grimme) Hart, the youngest of four girls. Upon graduating from Menomonie High School in 1969, she entered the field of barbering and was the very first female to be accepted in the once male-dominated trade. She married Robin Nelson, a fellow barbering student, on May 13, 1972, in Menomonie. Kendra and Robin owned and operated "Robin's Barber Shop" in Hillsboro from 1978 until the present. She was also recently employed as a barber by the State of Wisconsin. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robin; two children, Lisa and Ben; her three sisters, Ann (Mick) Husby of Menomonie, Karen (Dennis) Caims of Antigo, and Marlene (Don) Schultz of Menomonie; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stu and Bonny Nelson of Stevens Point; and her aunts, Velma Schutz, Jerene Price and Bernetta Schutz, all of Menomonie. There was a memorial celebration of Kendra's life on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, in Hillsboro. |
