About | Lynn Marie Lammer Dunn County News, Sun, Jan. 25, 2004, A6 Lynn Marie Lammer, age 52, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at her home in Hudson. She was born May 14, 1951, to John F. and Willa B. (Rayburn) Lammer. Lynn grew up in Menomonie and attended St. Joseph's School and graduated from Menomonie High School. She attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn., for two years, then transferred to the University of Wyoming where she received a bachelor of arts degree. Later, Lynn attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she received a master's degree in counseling. She also attended the William Mitchell Law School in St. Paul where she earned a law degree. Upon graduation, Lynn worked for West Publishing until her health became a factor. She completed a four-year program at the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy in Minnesota and was a practicing homeopath physician at the time of her death. Lynn was an amazing person, who despite being severely handicapped from birth with allergies and asthma, enjoyed life by participating in whatever her health allowed. She introduced many activities to her family that she herself couldn't do. Lynn insisted that her family try snowskiing, waterskiing and horseback riding, and was a source of encouragement for her family's endeavors. In her mid-40s, Lynn became involved in competitive ballroom dancing and was a dance instructor at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson. Her newest passion was sailing and racing with the St. Croix River Sailing Club. Lynn was involved in a gourmet cooking club and was a member of the Women's Business Network, Minnesota Bar Association, Minnesota Homeopathic Association (MHA), and the United States Association of Ballroom Dance (USABD). Lynn was a past member of the Stillwater, Minn., School Board and was instrumental in building a new high school in Stillwater. Lynn is survived by her parents; two children, Richard Schmidt of Hudson and Tiffany Schmidt of Shakopee, Minn.; two brothers, Michael Lammer of LaCrescent, Minn., and Patrick (Jayne) Lammer of Menomonie; four sisters, Lorrie (Dan) Jergenson of LaCrescent, Lucy (Fred Hollenbeck) Lammer of Menomonie, Rebecca (Tom) Massey of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Jennifer (Michael) Townsend of River Falls; her special friend, Bob Garner of Lake Elmo, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. |
