HINZMAN Marlys H. Hinzman, age 84, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. The former Marlys H. Mattison was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Menomonie, WI to Hjalmer and Minnie (Wold) Mattison. She was raised in Menomonie where she lived most of her life and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1942. On Oct. 4, 1946, Marlys married Lawrence “Larry” Hinzman in Prairie Farm. She and her husband were partners in several business’ including Larry’s Bar, Menomin Motors, Menomin Lanes and the “Den” bar. Marlys was a member of the American Legion Post 511 Auxiliary of Ridgeland and a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Marlys is survived by: Her daughter, Ann (Dennis) Rhead of Elk Mound Two grandsons, Wade Schilling of Eau Claire and Shawn Baglio of Boca Raton, FL Step-grandsons, Dennis (Sandra) Rhead Jr. of Elmwood and Dean Rhead of Elk Mound Two sisters, Allene Rhead and Betty L. Schlough both of Menomonie Nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry, a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Fred Baglio and son-in-law Gary Schilling. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery also in Menomonie. Family and friends are welcome at the church from 12:00 noon Saturday until the time of the service. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie assisted the family with arrangements. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Christ Lutheran Church or charity of donor’s choice. |
