About After a lengthy and valiant battle with COPD, Mary Rowe peacefully passed into the presence of the Lord.
Born in Antigo, WI on December 6, 1947 to Riley and Mae (Bowling) Rowe. Mary was the second of 10 children. As a child she moved to Wisconsin and later graduated from Menomonie High School in 1966.
During the same year, she married Mel Larrabee and they had five children. They later divorced and over the years Mary resided in Antigo, Elmwood and Durand.
Mary spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, enjoyed country music and reading true crime mysteries. Having been separated in childhood, Mary spent many years searching for her brothers, Ron and Lon, and sister Kathy. She was thrilled to finally be reunited with them last year.
Mary is survived by her children, Melissa Larrabee of Altoona, Maria (Scott) Morlock of Virginia Beach, Va., Marsha Larrabee (Gus Gospodinoff) of Chippewa Falls, and Mel Larrabee, Jr. of Chippewa Falls.
Her grandchildren, Aislinn, Rhiannon, Conor and Hayley Titel of Altoona, Brent Morlock of Virginia Beach, Va., and Noelle and KyJuan Gospodinoff of Chippewa Falls.
Her long time partner, Rex Clay of Durand, four brothers, Riley Rowe, Jr. of Antigo, Willard (Lois) Rowe of Kaukauna, Lon (Pamela) Gerger of Milwaukee, and Ron (Sandy) Gerger of Milwaukee. Two sisters, Rosie (John) Leeman of Peshtigo and Kathy Pinion of Sasuin, Calif.
She is preceded in death by a son, Matthew Larrabee; her parents, Riley Rowe, Sr., and Mae Krajewski; brothers, Niley Clay Rowe, George Edward Rowe and Jerry Krajewski, and her sister, Marjella Rowe.
Mary is loved and will be missed by many wonderful friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Viewing is from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. The funeral follows at 2 p.m., with interment at the Forest Center Cemetery.
A luncheon will follow in the basement of the Forest Center Nazarene Church.
