About | Mary Smith (nee Lambert), 68, of West Bend/Hartford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014. Mary was born on Nov. 8, 1946, in Menomonie, to Richard and Jane (nee Smallman) Lambert. Mary was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1964. Mary and John were married on April 8, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mary was a very devoted employee at the Town of West Bend for 19 years where she helped so many people throughout the years and acquired many friendships. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family. Mary and John had a seasonal home where they enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the mornings, enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the birds. In the evenings, she enjoyed the camp fire surrounded by many friends. Mary had a special bond with her cats, Shadow and Midnight, who filled the void after her children left the house. Mary is survived by her husband, John, of 19 years; children, Daniel David (Yvette) Utpadel, Deborah Jane (Randy) Mandt, Rebecca Joan (Terry) Schuster; stepchildren, Chad (Jill) Smith, and Ryan (Jodi) Smith; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Carol) Lambert, John (Nancy) Lambert, Ann (Dan) Gudis; further survived by many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Sarah. A memorial service will be held at Phillip Funeral Home (1420 West Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI 53095) on Monday, Dec. 15 at 2:15 p.m., with Father David LaPlante of St. Killian Congregation officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Food and fellowship to follow the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cedar Community Hospice or the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Foundation. |
