HANSEN Robert F. Hansen, age 82, of Menomonie, WI died Friday, July 4, 2008 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, after struggling with Huntington’s Disease for seven years. He was born February 21, 1926 in Appleton, WI. He was raised in Dunn County by father and mother, Chrissie and Alice (Jones) Hansen. Bob graduated from Menomonie High School in 1944. A year later, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Casablanca for two years. Following his military service, Bob worked at the Fair Store in Menomonie until going to work at Northern States Power Company where he worked for 31 years. Bob was very active in softball and dartball and was a member of the Hackensack hunting gang. He loved to hunt, fish, snowmobile and hang out with all the guys. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Bob is survived by: His wife Virginia of Menomonie Daughter Becky (Charles) Grossklaus of Eau Claire Three grandchildren, Branden (Megan) Kado of Menomonie Trenton Kado of Chicago, ILL Brittany Kado of Golden Valley, MN Two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Lauren Kado of Menomonie Two stepsisters, Betty Thompson of Rio Rancho, NM Fran Bressler of Menomonie A stepbrother, LaVerne (Audrey) Graske of Chippewa Falls Three brothers-in-law, Bob (Lorraine) Wilson of Menomonie George (Lou) Krall of Door County Rick (Becky) Goodell of Columbus, MS Also survived by other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his father Chrissie Hansen, mother Alice Hansen Graske and stepfather Art Graske. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2008 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Mary Jorgensen and Pastor Paul Pillman officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Falls Cemetery in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI, with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
