About | Shad M. Miland, age 35, of Menomonie, WI died unexpectedly Monday, May 29, 2006 at Red Cedar Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Menomonie. Shad Michael Miland was born on June 7, 1970 in Menomonie to Terry and Mary (Hake) Miland. Shad graduated from Menomonie High School in 1988. He then attended UW-Stout and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education. Shad has taught at several schools in the area and was currently teaching at Menomonie Day Treatment. On July 18, 2005, Shad married Tonia Tokar in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Addison and Aleaha. Shad was a wonderful father to his girls. Shad loved playing softball and was a collector of comics and toys. He was an avid Packer fan and had attended several games with his dad and brother at Lambeau Field. Shad also enjoyed playing with his two dogs, Sophie and Alex. Shad was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie and has been a life long member there. He will be truly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. Shad is survived by: His loving wife, Tonia of Menomonie Two beautiful daughters, Addison and Aleaha of Menomonie His parents, Terry and Mary Miland of Menomonie Mother-in-law, Margaret Tokar of St. Paul, MN His brother and best friend, Derek Miland of St. Paul, MN Maternal grandfather, Wilbur Hake of Menomonie Paternal grandmother, Lorraine Miland of Menomonie A brother-in-law, Todd (Mary) Tokar of Cottage Grove, MN Aunts and Uncles Bonnie Hake of Lakeville, MN Corinne Kerns of Menomonie, WI Tom Hake of Menomonie, WI Jim Hake of San Diego, CA Greg Hake of San Diego, CA And other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Hazel Hake; his paternal grandfather, Oscar Miland; and his good friend, Trevor Amundson. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Reverend Dave Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, twp. Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.” |
