About Earl T. Frye, age 86, of Oregon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at home, after a long illness. He was born on May 23, 1922, in Madison, the son of Charles and Eleda (Mellum) Frye. Earl graduated from Oregon High School and UW-Madison with a degree in economics. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Earl married Alvina Frambs on Jan. 21, 1950, in Madison. He worked in building and real estate. Earl and Alvina also owned and operated Oregon Bowl for 33 years. He was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 10272 (Oregon/Brooklyn), Zor Shrine Wranglers, and a Masonic Lodge member for 54 years. Earl enjoyed gardening, bowling, and golfing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alvina of Oregon; three children, Deborah Lewis of Brooklyn, Gregory "Bud" (Catherine) Frye of Oregon, and Kris (Bill) Knight of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Bryan (Tammy) Lewis of Green Bay, Jennifer Lewis of Orlando, Fla., Kellie Frye of St. Louis, Mo., Ashley Frye of Green Bay, and Kelsey Price of Louisville, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Paige Lewis; sister, Eleanor Killerlain; and sister-in-law, Evie Colwill. Earl was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral and Masonic services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at noon on Monday, June 2, 2008, with the Rev. Paul Markquart presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Dunn Burial Grounds.
