Events | Beverly "Bev" J. Lund, 92, of Watertown, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Park Ridge Assisted Living. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Young Tae Lee officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from noon until the time of the service. The burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Beverly "Bev" Joan Lund was born February 23, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Arthur Schluter and Laura Neuman. She was raised by Laura and her stepfather, William Dittmar. Bev graduated from Watertown High School in 1950. Bev met Robert Lund when he was in the Navy and they were married on October 18, 1950, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Together, Bev and Bob raised two daughters, Laurie and Heidi. Bob preceded her in death on January 4, 2006. Bev started working as a teenager at Ninabuck’s Sewing in Watertown and later worked at Tetzlaff’s Pharmacy. She devoted most of her working life to Blain's Farm and Fleet as a cashier. Bev's love for quilting and reading was well known. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and took pleasure in making dresses for her granddaughter and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Bev started the cancer support group called A Circle of Friends. In recent years, she lived at Highland Village Apartments, Highland House Assisted Living, and Park Ridge, where she actively participated in activities. Bev was a committed member of Christ United Methodist Church. Bev is survived by daughters Laurie Purtell and Heidi Schaller; grandchildren Brian (Nadya) Purtell, Christopher Purtell, Timothy (Jody) Purtell, Matthew (Carmen) Schaller, and Amanda (Keith) Knollenberg; great-grandchildren Iliya, Valya (David), Manasseh, Hannah, Miriam, Kyril, Addie, Harper, Finnegan, Meredith, Madeline, Jorja, James, Nathan, and Tobias; great-great-grandson Nathaniel; friend Pat Cowen; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bev was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; sons-in-law Ed Purtell and Russ Schaller; sister Gladys (Hermie) Prochnow; brother Allison (Lorraine) Dittmar; infant brother David; special friend Ken; six aunts and two uncles. |
