Events | Earl H. Wanke, 76, of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with his family by his side. Earl was born on January 13, 1948, in Watertown, the son of Anthony and Genevieve (Pitterle) Wanke. He was baptized, confirmed, and was a longtime member of St. Henry Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and earned his associates degree from MATC in Watertown. He married the love of his life Constance ”Connie” Wagner on May 8, 1971, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown, and the couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage. In Earls free time he enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Packers, and was a very talented woodworker. Earl was a simple man with a kind heart. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known him. Earl is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Tonya (Sean) Hampson of Evanston, IL, grandchildren Arden Simon and Sloan Elise, and his brother Donald Wanke and his family. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy, brother Edward (Marie) Wanke, a niece, and a nephew. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at St. Bernards Catholic Church with Fr. David Drefcinski presiding. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery. Memorials in Earl’s honor to Common Heart Hospice or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank those who continually cared for Earl over the years, and they would especially like to thank his nurses Amy and Stephanie for the compassion, care, and concern given to Earl.
