Events Jerold "Jerry" R. Hensler, 71, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center.



Jerold Ray Hensler was born on December 30, 1951, in Watertown, the son of Ruben and Martha (George) Hensler Sr. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1970 and later earned his Associate's Degree in Accounting from Madison Area Technical College (MATC). Jerry honorably served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War era. He was employed at Waukesha Engines, now GE, as a Gauge Lab Inspector from 1978 until retiring in 2019, including a tenure at Waukesha Foundry from 1982 to 1988. Together with Linda Hensler, he lovingly raised three children: Heather, Holly, and Jason. Jerry was a longtime member of the Lebanon Lions, and more recently joined Greenwood Lions. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially playing cards. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman, relishing time on Wisconsin's rivers and lakes. He also enjoyed brewing various types of beer.



Jerry is survived by his children, Dr. Heather (Jarrett Gersten) Hensler of Cross Plains, Holly Hensler of Sussex, and Jason (Erin) Hensler of Lebanon; grandchildren, Johnathon, Emmett, Gregory, Elise, and Oliver; brother, Ruben (Cindy) Hensler Jr.; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.



Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ellen (Hensler) Kruesel and Sandra Hensler; brother-in-law, Dennis Kruesel.



The family will hold a private celebration of Jerry's life at a later date.
