Events John {Jack) H. Nass passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 on his 87th birthday.



Jack was born on July 5, 1937 to Arthur and Elda (Zweig) Nass. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon. Jack was a 1955 graduate of Watertown High School, where he served as prom king with his future wife, Patricia Hanson, as his queen. After high school, Jack joined the US Navy in service to his country. On July 26, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Pat. They were the proud parents of Jill, Sue and Pete.



Jack began working at Johnson Controls (Baso) in 1958. He held various management positions over the years until his retirement in 2001, ending his career as Human Resources Manager. Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, His faith in his Savior was evident in the ways he chose to help his church, from serving as Church Council president to volunteering in many other capacities. His dedication to helping others extended also to the community of Watertown. He was an auxiliary firefighter for the Watertown Fire Department, sold real estate and was involved with other organizations in the community, including the Conservation Club and Rock River Rescue.



Family was always a priority to Jack. His home was the gathering place for many events; such as Christmas parties, Fourth of July picnics, watching fireworks and Thanksgiving dinners. He loved traveling, time at the cottage up north and spending time with his family and friends. His “Card Club” friends were part of his world for over fifty years. As an avid hunter, he enjoyed going up to their cabin in Birnamwood, Wisconsin, for turkey and deer hunting adventures with family and friends.



Jack is survived by his three children, Jill (Craig) Morgan, Sue Martin and Pete (Stacy) Nass; grandchildren, Rachel (Jake) Dunn, Leah (Dan) Unke, Tyler (Mara) Morgan and Tucker (fiancée Tara) Nass; great grandchildren, Rowan, Eden, Finn, Cara, Mallory, Jamison, Avery, Audrey, Esther and Caleb. He is also survived by his close dear friend, Jan Milbrath; brother, Arthur; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Nass; his parents; in-laws, Cliff and Ruth Hanson; two brothers; Everett and Ron Nass and their wives



A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m.at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wisconsin, with Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service for visitation. Burial will take place immediately following at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia, Wisconsin. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Jack was a rock to many, a master of puns and witty humor. His chuckle made everyone smile. His servant’s heart, leadership and wisdom guided those in his life. He was respected as a dedicated father, grandfather, great- grandfather, businessman and church member. Jack’s faith in his Savior served as an example to those who knew him. Many lives were blessed through him.
