| Events | Mark A. Strauss "Sparky", 58, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2024 at UW Hospital in Madison. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown, WI with Pastor Eric Taylor of Trinity Church-United Methodist in Beaver Dam officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be left at www.HafemeisterFH.com. Mark Allen Strauss was born on July 18, 1966 in Watertown to Harvey and Lorraine (Borchardt) Strauss. He attended St. John's Lutheran School and Watertown High School graduating in 1984. He married Allen Schneider on December 29, 2023. Mark had a unique sense of humor and was passionate about playing and coaching volleyball. He loved to go watch a match whenever he could whether it was for his nieces or the college level. He enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports. Mark had a way he could brighten up a room with his presence. He was loved by all of those he met. He will be forever missed He is survived by his husband Allen Schneider of Madison; Allen's daughters: Haylie (Ross) Jeseritz of Beaver Dam, McKennah (Austin Ramsey) Schneider of Columbus; four sisters: Lynn Baker of Watertown, Gail (Charles) Rogers of Watertown, Janet (James) Pieper of Lebanon, Patty (Tom) Gillingham of Watertown; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Jacob) Holl of Horicon; ten nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces, four great-nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Ceilan Baker and niece Cynthia Baker. |
