Events | Michael Lloyd Schleicher, 39, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2023. He was born May 23, 1984, in Watertown to Tim and Diane (nee Holterman) Schleicher. He attended St. Bernard's Catholic School and was a 2003 graduate of Watertown High School. In 2007 he graduated from Viterbo University with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Mike went on to receive his Master's of Science in Nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. Mike compassionately cared for others and excelled at geriatric and family care. He worked for health care organizations, both large and small, in Wisconsin and Iowa. While growing up, Mike spent many hours at the Holterman family farm. He later created his own beef business in Iowa. His love of animals followed him throughout life, and he supported and encouraged youth through 4-H and agricultural organizations. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and teaching them about farming. He leaves behind his four children: Adalyn, Emery, Beckham and Josiah of Fairfield, Iowa; the mother of his children, Lisa; his parents; his brother Nicholas (Lisa) Schleicher of Fishers, Indiana; nieces Kinley, Kara, and Kendall; Great Aunt Patricia Schleicher of Watertown; Grandmother Rosemarie Holterman of Watertown; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many caring and close friends in Wisconsin and Iowa - especially Tom & Diane Bevins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Joan Schleicher and Lloyd A. Holterman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, (W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc) with Fr. Charles Zabler officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Henry's Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials are suggested to the family.
