Richard "Rick" Charles Ebert, Jr., was born September 3, 1953, in Watertown, the son of Richard Sr. and Leta (nee Gillespie) Ebert. Shortly after, he won an award for being the "Cutest Baby" and was very proud of it, especially when his granddaughter followed in his footsteps. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1971 and went on to MATC. Rick married the former Patrice "Patti" Walsh on January 16, 1981. Together, they raised three sons: Bryant, Benjamin, and Bradley. They renewed their vows on September 16, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Early in his career as an auto mechanic, he learned from Wayne Kohlhoff and Jake Burbach, before purchasing the shop from Jake Burbach and starting "Rick's Auto Repair" on East Main Street. He owned and operated "Rick's Auto Repair" for 25 years. After selling the business, he worked at Saelen's Corporation.

Rick was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as Church President for 6 years. He was on the Ducks Unlimited committee and a member of the Izaak Walton League. Rick loved golfing, especially at Windwood Country Club and enjoyed watching NASCAR and Kentucky Basketball. More importantly, he was a caring and loving Christian husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his boys and absolutely adored his four granddaughters, always being there and making sure their pockets were filled with Oreos and candy before leaving his house.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patti Ebert; sons, Bryant (Gayle) Ebert and their daughters: Evelyn and Sophia, Benjamin Ebert and his daughters: Alexandra and Britney, and Bradley (Nicole) Ebert, all of Watertown. Rick is further survived by his sister, Margie Kern, brothers-in-law: Mike (Janet) Walsh, Terry (Dawn) Walsh, and Colin (Denise) Walsh; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Bill and Frances Walsh, and sisters-in-law: Shelly Walsh, Lisa Walsh, and Colleen Maas.
