Scott D. Schleif, 60, of Clyman, passed away peacefully Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Dycora Nursing Home in Watertown. Scott was born at Watertown Memorial Hospital on March 14, 1957 to Roger and Betty (nee Johnson) Schleif. He graduated from Watertown High School and went to work at BASO in Watertown. Scott moved to California and worked at Western Gear. Scott moved back to Watertown and married Cherryl M. Benninger on September 24, 1994. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Watertown. Scott enjoyed NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer football. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and tattoos. He was a family man and loved them very much. Scott is survived by his wife, Cherryl; stepson, Paul Benninger; stepdaughters, Amy (Joe) Luna and Jodi Holguin of California; four grandchildren; mother, Betty Schleif; brother, Pat Schleif; Aunt and Godmother, Virginia Johnson; Aunt, Beverly Ryan; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jerry) Kikkert and; brother-in-law, Daniel Benninger as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger and sister-in-law, Virginia Geneman as well as parents-in-law. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Elizabeth Tester of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Watertown officiating. Burial will take place at Reeseville Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
