| Events | Shelly Sue Piper, 68, of Lake Mills, passed away on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center surrounded by her husband and 3 girls. She was born on February 24, 1956 in Watertown, WI to the late Orville and Marlene (Kottwitz) Scheel. Shelly graduated from Watertown High School Class of 1974, and then went on to Beauty School. She married Daniel Reed Piper on December 22, 1979 in Lake Mills, WI. Shelly worked as a hairdresser at Patti’s Beauty Salon for over 25 years. She was a member of the Lake Mills Moravian Church and its women’s church circle group. Shelly enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and entertaining. She spoiled her grandkids and loved her dogs, Sunny and Hank. She was a social butterfly and collector of people; she would befriend anyone despite their beliefs and differences. This included an open-door policy to her home and a back porch made for gathering and laughter. She is survived by her husband Daniel; daughters Sommer (Bill) Harford, Nicole Piper (Paulino Duran), Taylor Piper (Bryce Schackmann); grandkids Shea, Lennon, Arden, and Wilder; siblings Shannon (Ann) Scheel and Sheryl (Daniel) Piper. She was also preceded in death by her sister Shawn Scheel. A Celebration of Life will be held in Shelly and Dan’s backyard under the big pine trees on Sunday, August 11 from 11am until 4pm. Friends may visit and enjoy remembering her during this time. If desired, memorials in Shelly’s name may be made to the family, care of Daniel Piper. |
