About | Wanda L. Christian, age 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown, with Rev. Carina Schiltz officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from noon until the time of the service. The inurnment will follow at the church’s parish cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Watertown Humane Society, Rainbow Hospice, or a charity of your choice. Wanda Lynn Christian was born on November 7, 1956, in Watertown, to Elmer Jr. and Wieda (née Schoenike) Christian. She was a proud graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1975. Post-high school, Wanda continued her education at UW-Agriculture Short Course, MATC, and UW-Waukesha. In her early career, she was employed at Lindberg Hevi-Duty. After graduating from UW Short Course, she worked with area calf farmers. She also devoted many years to assisting on her family’s pig farm. Wanda harbored a deep love for animals, cherishing her time with her dogs and cats. She was deeply involved in her church community, where she found a sense of purpose and fulfillment. She held the position of President of Women of the ELCA, led bible studies, served communion, and helped in running the media operations. Wanda is survived by her loving mother, Wieda Christian; her cherished cats, Beeps, Baby, Lady, and Munchie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Christian Jr.; grandparents, Elmer Sr. and Alma Christian, and Reuben and Olinda Schoenike; her beloved pets, Gypsy and Sampson; as well as several aunts and uncles. |
