About | From the Obit Sheridan native Frederick Jackson Whaley, 27, of Worland died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Washakie Medical Center of complications from a train/car accident. He was the son of Keith Whaley of Sheridan. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center with Pastor Anthony Roberts from the Church of God of Prophecy officiating. Private burial will be at a later date with graveside military rites by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bryant Funeral Home of Worland is handling arrangements. Mr. Whaley was born April 17, 1974, in Sheridan to Keith David and Betty Lou (Kraft) Whaley. The family moved to Worland when he was 2. He was a 1993 graduate of Worland High School. He married Kathryn Ann Kumpe on April 16, 2001, in Worland. He worked for the Worland School District, Pamida Discount, Swing Motor, Comfort Inn and, at the time of his death, 3-J’s Welding. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Jacob Kraft and Jack Whaley, and a grandmother, Vivian Bader. Other survivors include his wife and infant son, Matthew, and his mother and stepfather, Betty Lou and Duane King, all of Worland; his stepmother, Joyce Whaley of Sheridan; a sister, Tesa Lou King of Worland; two stepbrothers, Alan King of Amarillo, Texas, and Wayne Deatherage of Guymon, Okla.; four stepsisters, Rita Garcia of Worland, Rhonda Neighbors of Gillette and Mellissa Hazillt and Joyce Ann Laferty, both of Ardmore, Okla.; and a grandmother, Della Kraft of Worland. -Kathryn (Kumpe - Whaley) Heinz |
